Fished the P.O.River on Saterday with Dwayne Parsons an outdoor writer from Ifishwrte.com that I had met at the seminar I did at the General Store in Spokane a few nights before. We fished in some pretty horrible conditions with winds up to 35 mph. I had to use every pound of thrust from my Minn Kota Maxxum's 101lb. as the wind pounded us. We tried without any sucess to find a place out of the wind, but it was whipping straight down the river valley. Although the weather was less then ideal we still managed to put a lot of Smallies in the boat. Ended up with about 24 to 28 fish between us, with the biggest one at about 3 lb. that Dwayne got. We got a few fish on cranks but most fell to craw colored tubes crawled across the bottom. I got a nice size Cutthrout on my craw crankbait that was missing most of it's face from where someone had hooked it in the past and pulled it's face off. Plus it had a hook down it's throut with a worm on it where someone else had lost it and it still hit my crankbait!!!!!! lol Now that's a hungery fish. I couldn't take any pictures as I could not leave the trolling motor for even a second or we would be up on the rocks.
