Got on the river with 2 of my buddies shortly after 4pm. The water level is higher then I have ever seen it before and that in my mind played a huge roll in the fishing conditions being way tougher then the past few weeks. When we started the water was flowing pretty strong but as we reached dusk the water flow slowed way down so hopefully from here forward it will slow down and the river will go back to it's normal level. On this trip we only caught two fish with about 5hrs of fishing. About 730pm we saw a WDFW boat putting nets in the river up by Gardener slough. I was quite disappointed to see them doing that but have known for sometime that they are going to net parts of the river, it could have just been a research team as well doing counts but not sure. It was an awesome afternoon to be out on the river and even though the catch rate wasn't all that great we had a blast.
