After a few trips up to the PO river thought I'd take some time and do a post. Fishing has been good but not great, not like last year when I got a hit or at least a follower on just about every cast. Was able to hook up with a couple nice Pike and Largemouth, all sizable fish were released unharmed. Used mainly Spoons, swimbaits, cranks and chatterbaits. The white chatterbait seemed to be the most effective and consistent lure. The wife finally caught her first Pike but is still too afraid to hold one, I wonder why... Anyways, taking the wife up to Waitts today for her birthday to do some trolling for trout, happy fishing everyone!

Sounds like a good trip and congrats to your wife on her first northern. When I was up there last Friday it was a tough bite overall but I notice that even the small ones had much more girth then my previous trip in May. Congrats

Nice Pike there! Did you measure her?

@ Mark K, didn't get a measurement but my wife's best guess is 38-40"...
