This report is a little late but last week me and the family spent 5 days at the Cle Elum river campsite. I brought my inflatable boat with me this time and was able to anchor it right where the river and lake meet. There were a lot of fish in that area and the fly hatch was thick. After trying different spinners I switched to a black wooly bugger that landed one fish around 12". Put him back in and called it a day. The next morning I went back up river where the fast water was hitting a log jam. Anchored and watched numerous fish hitting insects off the surface. Switched to a floating grasshopper lure on 6lb test, no weight and first cast as soon as the lure hit the water I hooked up. Fought this guy for a few minutes and right when I got him to the boat he pulled under me spinning the boat around and knocking me off my anchor! Now I'm floating down stream towards the log jam, trying to grab my oars without letting go of the fish/ rod. I eventually get the boat in some slower water and turn my attention to the fish. Once again after some hard fighting I get him to the boat and as I'm reaching out to net him he tail walks and spits the hook. I was excited and dissapointed at the same time. He looked to be at least 20" to 24" long. I went back to the same spot and continued to hook 10-14 inchers every couple casts but never did get another big one. I eventually lost my lure to that log jam and called it a day. Water visibility about 20 feet, average flow around 50 degress. Overcast with no wind. 6lb flouro, no weight on 6' ultra light rod.

Can't wait to go back :)
