Tried to beat the crowd to Rotary park boat launch didn’t get there until 6:30 AM and I only had to wait for two boats to launch! I got lucky. I made my way up the river stopping a few times to fish briefly without any hits. I saw fish being caught on shore and on my fish finder just past the cable crossing signs. I got a fish on only to lose it at the boat, another bite lost right after the hook up. I examined my jig to find it had pinched barbs, a jig I had used in a selective gear area. Switched to new 3/16 jig with pink mini squid and some sardine scent and bam another fish to the boat with a nice fight. A nice bright buck. The bite slowed down and I moved to just below the HW 9 bridge and got another taker on the jig! A fun fight. This fish ran several times at least a hundred feet. After about 6 minutes or so I brought aboard a nice hen with eggs, at least 6 pounds. Lots of bank fishermen and lots of boats, I must have just missed the huge crowd at the boat launch. Too many aggressive boaters! I had one boat and one Jet Ski play chicken with me while traveling back down stream. I saw many cases of big boats passing real close to small boats when they didn’t have to??? Good fishing day, I caught Salmon! Hope to see you all out there; I’m in 12’ Northwood aluminum.
