Well I had the privelage to have Doug P from Chapter 57 and his daughter fishing with me on the PO River yesterday. We got on the river about 7am and started fishing the main river, water level is way down this time of year. Water temp was 71 degrees and clarity was very good. We casted spinnerbaits and spoons as well as swimbaits. We ended up catching 8 Pike,2 Bass and Maddie caught her first Pike ever a nice 25" fish, Congrats to her. The fishing got slow as the afternoon approached so we headed to Newman for some late day Tiger Muskie fishing. I ended up losing 1 fish about 10ft from the boat otherwise the fishing there is starting to get slow. Water temp was 77 degrees and water clarity is terrible just like last year at this time of year. Thanks for coming over to visit us and spending some time fishing with us. Good fishing everyone...

Thanks for the info and congrats to Doug's daughter on her northern. Always an added bonus to get the kids over fish,certainly some life long memories created.

Craig, Thanks for the report on the POR. It's good to hear the water has cleared up up there. I'll be headed back to Coeur d alene again on Saturday to see if I can repeat last weeks performance. I hope to make it back to the POR soon. Happy Fishing

Hey Craig,

Glad to hear that Doug and his daughter were able to spend some time out with you guys on the POR. That is Great that Doug was able to see his daughter catch her very first Pike!!! That I bet was a huge moment for him, I know when my daughter caught her first Pike back 2 years ago on the Chippewa Flowage I was ecstatic for her! I am still waiting on my little man, but he will get into one. Maybe it too will be on the POR! Have a good one, tight lines!
