Fished early 4:45 - 8 am catching a limit while it was still dark. I hooked three fish in three casts. The river is very full of fish. I tied up marabou streamers and used a large corkie. I tried some shrimp oil and it seems to help. The last fish I landed had three different sets of line and gear attached to it. A large hen. Crowds begin to stream in about 7am. I got my favorite spot for an hour and a half all too myself.

Check the regs. The Puyallup has a night closure on it. It was not open to fish until 5:20 AM this morning.

With sunrise always on the move, I highly doubt that 20 minutes will land me a fine. getting to the river early is nice, not worrying about any other lines in the water makes fishing more enjoyable. The fishing gets much hotter after the sun hits the river. I have fished the puyallup all week, 20 fish in the freezer, and have noticed that the river gets hottest just after sunrise.
