Started out kinda late cause my uncle and i just love the snooze button but was at the river by 8 this morning and it was good all day if you knew what you were doing. Watched a guy pull in 2 small silvers and later in the day my uncle and i both hooked into 2 silvers each but only kept 1 each cause we were not sure if we could keep native silvers so the natives went back. Also had a couple guys tell me that you can keep native silvers but i didn't want to risk it. If anyone can clear that up for me that would be great thanks and here is a picture of our silvers.

You can keep native silvers but not native kings (you can keep native king jacks). It never hurts to let a native fish go. I really dont know how strong the native stock of silvers is on the puke.

Oh alright thanks chengpu. I probably will let the natives go anyway just because their natives and like you said who knows how strong the native stock is for silvers.

you can't keep native jacks because they are considered part of the native chinook population.

I wouldnt let a native silver go...bad idea, most likely going to die in the river, depending on how stressed is put on it from being caught.

It is ALWAYS a good thing to let a native Salmon go, regardless of which type it is. Good for you!

For RobinsoN. The sad fact of nature is that all salmon return to their place of birth where they spawn, then, within days, die. They do not return to the ocean. Only steelhead make the return trip.

We returned 2 native coho today on the sound( area 10) thinking we couldn't keep them but that was ok with us, safely returned to fight another day, always better to be safe than sorry

By definition in the rules you can keep kings that are native that are not considered adults but are instead jacks which is a king 12" to 23" in length, 24" and up are adults and would have to released.

Min. size 12". Daily limit 6. Up to 4 adults may be retained, of which
only 2 may be any combination of CHINOOK, COHO and CHUM.
Release wild adult CHINOOK.

I could be wrong but thats how it looks and i have had various other people confirm this.

Chengpu is correct, you only have to release WILD ADULT CHINOOK on the Puyallup River. Chinook Jacks (12in-23in Wild or Hatchery) aren't considered adults.
