We put in on the lower Stilly at Marine Drive just before 7 am, with the tide just about all the way out. Headed down abou a quarter mile from the launch and drifted through a couple schools. The pinks were thick, lots rolling and generally taunting us. The three of us managed to get five in the boat, three bucks and two bright chrome hens, in about 3 hours of fishing. Human/gear errors resulted in getting a few up to the boat and having them run off (line snapped off on prop, jammed reel, and bent hook). Silver/brass Dick Nites with a quarter ounce weight above the leader were the stars of the day. Hooked a couple on pink Marabou jigs, but the excellent water clarity and sunny skies meant the spoons were the attention grabbers and were much more effective overall. Solid day of fishing out there.
