had a pretty good day today. Got on the river around 6ish behind the waste water plant in orting, and it was slow for the first couple hours. Pinks and kings alike were rolling like crazy, definatley frustrating when they roll two feet away from ya and ignore your lure.

bite picked up around 8, hooked into three, one nice king im guessing (didnt fight like a pink and shot straight down river), and lost those. Finally landed two pinks within the next hour or so and then the real fun started. Cast my line, let it drift and as i was reeling in i felt a nice tug. set the hook and it was off to the races. Didnt see the fish until after 100 yard dash downriver and when it showed itself my heart jumped into my throat. after another 50 yard chase the king decided he had enough and rested himself on a little sandbar and just sat there until my buddy ty crossed the river and netted him(thanks buddy). Once he got a close look at it, realized it was a native, definatley dissapointing but the fight alone made my day. Took a quick weight, measured out at 17.4 pounds and ty removed the three hooks that other people had snagged him on, one of which was a treble (make sure you know the regs where your fishing), nursed him back and he took off with a strong kick.

back at it tomorrow morning, and a big thanks to everyone fishing around us, made for an enjoyable day not dealing with a bunch of assholes. Tight lines everyone!
