So I'm at my favorite plunking hole and end up running out of shrimp. I had been getting fish on fairly consistently and I wanted to keep fishing (without leaving to get more bait) so I rig up a plunking set up with a Dick Nite. I had heard this was possible and always wanted to try it out. Used a #1 50/50 brass/nickel and over the next 2 hours...BAM. Fish on much more often than I was getting with shrimp and a spin and glow. The 2 other guys fishing near me had 1 fish to my 6 or 7. Can't wait for the silvers to get in.

Do you have a picture of your setup? Do you use a Spin-N-Glow or Corky to help keep the Dick Nite up off the bottom of the river? Does it effect the way the lure moves? I've never heard of this technique and it sounds quite interesting, thanks for sharing.

@Knotty- I cut the wings off a spin and glow and put it on the leader about half way with a toothpick jammed in to keep it from sliding. Can't see the lure to know about the action but the current must have been getting it moving since they were hitting it. Today was a little slower, landed 2 (released) and lost 2 and missed 2 other bites but I was in a different hole. Tight lines....
