I spent all of about MAYBE 10 minutes fishing today at a spot that had a little garbage so will try to hit it up and clean next time (BTW good job Motch!).

Why so short on fishing time this trip?

My wife said to leave a little early to work and pick up Subway since she couldn't get my dinner ready and she hadn't made a lunch either.
I took this to mean I could fish briefly and then swing by Subway on the way to work although that wasn't quite how she stated it.

I sacrificed the time window for going to Subway to the fishing Gods and diverted to the Green River instead of Subway. They're both on the way to work.

Well, it was just enough time to walk into the fishing spot, cast a few times, then head out quick or I'd be late to work.
Somehow time for Subway didn't fit into the timeline due to my miscalculation of how fast I can run with a net and fishing rod to and from 'the spot'.

So now I am at work starving LOL. No lunch, no dinner. That's OK, I got about 7 minutes of fishing in. Worth skipping lunch and dinner for it :-0 Plus I have enough time at dinner break to write a report! Win-win (fish AND write report) to counteract the hungry hungries...

In hindsight, it's a good thing I didn't catch anything as it would have VERY likely made me late for work and put me into trouble.

Oh ya, I did see a few rollers but not a lot and the tide was out at the section I was at.

Good luck all on the water.

PS- ib i FEEL yuh on these short trips brothuh LOL. GEESH. If only tardiness was acceptable to the manager at work.

Ya, should mention I did kind of an old man walk-run into the spot LOL. :-0 The body's getting old.... was at least nice to see a few rollers even tho the nest have been in. Glad no Walakers were witness to it (uh, I think).

Man, that is dedication!!! I can definitely relate. When I read your report, I felt like it was me. Guilty as charged! My last salmon report was a stint "on the way to work too." lol Can't say anymore for fear of incrimination. I too forget occasionally to factor the time to trek to and from the intended spot. And 7 minutes of fishing is better than 30 minutes at work thinking about fishing.

Sometimes that what you have to do. I get off work before the wife so I have the privilege of picking our daughter up from the sitters. if I have 10min to spare I often stop at a lake on the way, and make a few casts. I've caught a nice trout and large mouth doing this. :)

Good luck!

Thanks! My wife has recently gotten equally obsessed with fishing. She's a little smarter than me so she makes sure to bring something for me to eat when I start getting cranky. 5 hours of fishing on an empty stomach and not getting a single nibble on my line turns me into whiny four year-old. Point being, those of us who are obsessed with fishing to the point of starving ourselves need to get our wives in on the action. That is of course, if your wife enjoys feeding you. There's always protein shakes!

U guys are feeding my motivation here LOL (just kidding- all decisions made to fish are mine and subsequent consequences too).
I have a right sleepy mind (and full stomach thanx to my wife's delicious pho) to skippy on outta work cuz I am feeling VERY sick and VERY tired....
Wife has relatives at the house for a week too so slept on the floor with little sleep. Work is... Well I won't even start with that...
Hmmmmmm.....
As far as the wife, she can't fish due to her right arm not being able to support much weight at all. A salmon tugging on a fishing rod wouldn't work. Although I was very proud of my daughter catching on over Labor Day weekend :-) Think she's gonna be my fishing partner more and more going forward if I can motivate her (tricky to do when 'Mom' isn't into it, in fact the only fishing daughter has done this year was that weekend). Those few minutes yesterday were the first time back out since the Labor Day weekend trips with daughter and those pinks aren't gertting any brighter. OK back to WORK. :-0 Good luck all on the water out there.

Woohoo, I was inspired today to go to an appointment when at work. So I took off to my appointment just after 4:30 PM from work and returned after 7 PM to finish off the shift LOL. I'm still at work but have a Green River report coming. It was a GOOD appointment and the medicine was GOOD too.
