i am new here and my question is quite the same as Skullduggery but the exact opposite. im traveling from Portland to Seattle and would like to try out the Nisqually river for 2-3 hours of fishing and would like to know couple of easy spot to get to but have a really good chance of maybe hooking up one if not thats okay as well. also, what is the local using like standard setup or favorite setup there (color yarn or corkie or eggs), thank you and much appreciated.

9/22/2011 6:34:00 AMAccess to bank fishing on the Nisqually is extremly limited, if you have military I.D. you can get access through Fort Lewis, which controls the Pierce County side of river from Mounts road upstream and downstream.You can park on Mounts road and walk in as well. There is bank access at 6th avenue, goggle map will get you there. I have access to tribal land so I don't have to deal with combat fishing. There is NO access through the widlife refuge.

9/22/2011 7:11:00 AMWTG aaagain Bob ... your hit'n all my fav spots ....been tell'n these guys for years the Chehalis is the place to go .. access on the Nisqually .. you forgot to mention River Bend or wutever camp ground ... think its $6 to get in .... lots of diff water there and usualy not so shoulder to shoulder ... the public access is a handicap area .. should be easy to find in the WDFW site .... keep up the good work Bob ....DOG

9/22/2011 3:36:00 PMI keep hearing about a place called the tank crossing and was wondering where exactly it is down there? I usually fish at the military area but wanted to find some place new and possibly less crowded

9/22/2011 3:55:00 PMTank crossing is on the highway to yelm that passes through the reservation. Red corkies and yarn and blue fox spinners seem to be the norm, good luck. bob r

9/23/2011 1:31:00 PMwent down wed morning caught 9 humpies and one silver on the nisqually on ft. lewis side used 7 foot liter and pink corkie and black yarn with 3/4 oz cannonball wacked them all day nothing to write home about didnt keep any but hope that helps
