Went to the stilly during my lunch break and hit a nice holding area for silvers. First few fish were pinks and after about twenty minutes my lure stops...my reel starts to peel out line and a bright 8 pound silver starts dancing on top of the water and just slides about 6 feet across the surface. Finally I said to myself after hooking up over 100 pink salmon over the season. I remembered how it felt to have a silver at the end of my line again. Holding on for dear life i'm praying that the hook will stay on. After 5 minutes of sheer power the silver starts to do the traditional coho roll and I feel the fish rolled up in my line and sure enough the coho surfaces all paralyzed from the line. He was ready to beach. After a few more tugs I beached him and could breath again. What a rush...I would take one silver over 100 pink salmon. I was using a dicknite.
Now that I got the monkey off my back i'm hoping for more silvers in the cooler
Fish on!!
