uggg, I think it's time to find a new spot. I took the pontoon out Sat and Sun and screwed around by the Spokane Street Bridge (near 107). I had really good luck there two weeks ago. Not Sat or Sun. I didn't even see a fish roll. Either the nets have them spooked or they are further up the river, probably the latter. I hooked one in the side and threw it back which caused an up roar on the bridge. Those guys just sit there 10 feet up and look for fish and then when they see one they all throw a large hook at it and snag the crap out of them. Sad! Worst of all they keep them. I saw about 15 fished snagged, none caught legally. Anyway, may try and head up river this week. Any suggestions? I do have a pontoon boat. I'm not looking for anyone’s money hole, just advice on where to get into some fish.

Don't know the river so I can't help you there....but I do have WDFW's poaching hotline programmed into my phone. I live for seeing the snaggers getting busted.

That behavior is a given at that locale.

Mark, I am with you all the way but that hot line works, it is ineffective. I called in one time and the operator knew exactly what I was going to say before I said it and then commented that they are understaffed and undermanned. They say the simply do not have the resources, but I told them if they invested a few officers for sting operations, they could rake in the cash on these violators.

True, my brother works for the fish wildlife and parks in MT.
They pay for 90% of their budget through fines and confiscated items

The monies from the tickets go into the state's general fund. It would be nice if the money stayed within the department, but since its a state agency, they cant keep the money. This was discussed before in the forums.
