There are a few in the system probably from the short weekend no net timeframe and the little ones sneaking thru with or without nets. I saw a few coho jumpers today in Tukwila big enough to have been caught in nets had the nets been there. Jumpers were a mix of boot pink hens and some coho mixed as well (some starting to color up, a couple unmistakably bright ones). Might have been a half-alive boot pink male in there occassionally.

10/4/2011 9:10:00 PMSo how do you rig up a spinner and a hoochie? I've heard people say they use the "hoochie" before, but dont really know exactly what it is. Looks like a tube or squid type plastic.

10/5/2011 7:23:00 AMDude there are tons of silvers in the green already, not to mention the fish that are still comin up. A lot of dark ugly kings and pinks, but the silvers are all thru out the river.. I was fishin in the same area last evening(10-4-11) and pulled a 12 lb hatchery hen that was chrome. Try a 5.5ft leader, small pinkish-orangish corky and 00 hook no yarn. Barely enough weight to graze the bottom and you will hammer silvers.. Forget those blue fox spinners, they are use less in as clear of a river as the green, the fish just get spooked.

10/5/2011 9:22:00 AMGenerally I catch Silvers on smaller baits than Pinks. Especially when the river is clear like it has been the past couple days. Thanks for the report.

10/5/2011 11:09:00 AMFish-Freak, thanks for the advice. I hadn't had much luck on the corky's but I'll try them again. I was using spinners on advice from anglers I met and from my local sporting goods shop. I did manage to catch a silver the first day out using them.
FishingFool, a hoochie is a soft plastic squid. When I take the treble hook off the spinner I put an O-ring on to attach my single hook. I then cut a small hole in the top of the hoochie, just big enough that I can put it over the O-ring and have it stay on by pressure.

10/5/2011 12:08:00 PMNot a problem, just fish the seams where the slow and faster water meet... all fish love holding in seams. Go small on the gear tho. Small corky, small hook and small weight as possible to barely touch bottom. Long leaders allow distance between weight and corky so fish don't associate the two with each other. Clear water = easily spooked fish.
