makscoot
11/4/2011 1:21:00 PMThanks.
I was near Tuwaco that other day but the river was still running 7k CFS and little high for that area with a "few" silvers running on the sides away from the stronger current.
cheers Anglers.

I went to the Skykomish above Monroe with a fly fishing buddy from Whidbey Island who is learning to fly fish and drift fish rivers. He split his time between fly fishing and swinging a dick nite on a spinning rig. I had seen several coho caught the previous day on eggs so I was loaded for bear with some nice eggs I had cured. I hooked and landed a bright buck around 6 pounds around 8 am and hooked a large coho around 10 or so pounds a little later that put up a great fight because I was casting quite a ways into the middle of the river when I hooked him. Got him in but he was just a little too red to keep that early in the day. I had dreams of limiting on chrome fish like the first one. Things shut off for most of the rest of the day and I switched over to a frog pattern dick nite and starting casting and swinging it as far as I could because most of the jumpers were on the other side of the river. About a half hour into that plan I hooked and landed a small rosy buck silver that was right on the Jack/Adult border line. I still haven't measured it but marked it as an adult. Missed a huge hit a little later but that was it for the day. 3 coho landed is a 5 star day for me but I wished my buddy had hit a fish. Sorry for the fuzzy cellphone pic....must have gotten the lens wet.
