Got up early and hit the river just below the Sultan. Using a pink and red corky landed a near bright 8 lb. Coho, surprised he was in such good shape, brought him home, late run coming up still, wanted to hit it before it floods tomorrow, also caught a beautiful jack native steelhead about 3 lbs. which I released. Stopped in Carnation on the way home and fished my secret hole on the Snoqualmie at Tolt Hill park hoping for more late silvers. I almost always use a mepps spinner here, have caught several silvers here this fall heading for Griffith creek. Second cast as I was bringing the lure up to my rod tip a salmon slamned it, scared the crap out of me :), never even had time to set the hook and it was gone, i was thinking it was a hen silver but now not sure. Few minutes later lost another nice fish along the break line between fast water and the eddy I target. Thirty min. later I hooked and landed a 15 lb. Chum, great fight with head shaking runs, very bright native, i released it of course. Now I'm thinking the first fish was a chum,or steelie, very bright, did get a quick look at it as it broke the water RIGHT in front of me but saw no stripes. Great day! might try again early in am before river blows out. Time for steelies!
