Went out today not expecting too much since we have this low clear water going on for what seems like too long. I was glad to get out there because it wasn't too cold and I hooked a nice 11 pound steely on a spoon!! It hit that spoon with so much aggression I felt it in my shoulder. After a series of intense head shakes the steely torpedoes down river about 50 yards. All I could do at that point was watch in awe how this fish could power itself down river so far so fast. I began to think that this fish may be a chum because i've experienced this kind of power while fighting a chum. As the fish surfaced it was no doubt seeing the chrome with a tint of red on it's cheek that it was steel. I had to take it all in as the battle happened within seconds and the steely willing comes back up river all spent out and ready to bank.
The second photo is a steely in a previous trip but wanted some input wether it is a summer run and winter run. I caught it first week of december.
hope you enjoyed the report and hopefully we get some rain to make it red hot!

Fish ON!!!

Looks like late summer steel. I too always have a rod with a spoon on it. Pure thunder. Nice job
