Fished blue creek yesterday for the first time. I was fishing just a little downstream from the boat launch area. I was there for probably 5 hours fishing with a float and jig and eggs. had zero luck not even a nibble as I watched all the people in the boats drift by cathing fish constantly and then a younger guy showed up and started fishing right next to me maybe 10-15 feet away and first cast he has a fish on. Probably 10 cast later another fish on. 2 steelhead in under five minutes.UN-FRICKING-REAL. I cant even get a little strick. He was fishing with a corkie and yarn so right when he leaves I move into the exact spot he was at and switch my gear over to a corkie and yarn setup. I fish for another 2 hours with nothing but probably at least 20 lost setups. I am in some serious need of some fishing help. I go fishing at least 3 times a week and have not caught a fish since the beginning of november. I live in shoreline and if anybody would let me tag along with them for the day just to help me make sure that when I do go fishing I am at least setting my gear up the right way and am having it fish to where I know I would have the best chance of getting a strike if there are fish around. I would buy you a case of beer or just be very grateful.

Hey. I been There a once and I've only hooked 1. But yeah the setup there is long leader n straight yarn if running mono line. With flouracarbon Line I'll add a corky. My friends go there a lot. I might head down there next week. N maybe we can ride together. I live in SEATAC . Call me with Any questions 206-683-8900 or text

the key to winter steelhead is three things jigs and float or eggs But key thing I do best is small pink corks good luck next time going in morning.

It's not just the rig. You have to have the right drift angles too. That's where you have to watch the other guys who are catching fish. Match their gear and watch where they place their gear. A foot too high or low and you will miss the fish. Weight is important too. You have to have the right speed on your bait or the fish won't hit it. Hanging up a lot and losing 20 rigs probably means you're running too much weight and also need a corky or something similar to float your hook off the bottom a little more.
