Loaded up the truck and the boat, and headed down to the Cowlitz Saturday morning for a long weekend of fishing. And what an awesome weekend it was!
Got a late start on Saturday, and had an extra in the boat that got cold fast, but we did manage one nice bright Hatchery Buck.
Sunday was our good day, with a late start again on account of the Rod Lockers being frozen shut and everything being covered in snow, but that was fine. We got out early enough to be on the water most the day, drifting yarnies, but didn't get any hits till the population of boats decreased. After we got the first fish in (A nice buck) it was every pass or every other pass, we'd get another fish till we got our limits. 4 for 4 and one bright hen. What a day!
Monday was even colder with more snow, so we started the morning on the bank. Few hours there with no luck we finally gave in and put the boat in the water. Few passes later and it was fish on! Landed that one, another Buck, made a few more passes before we decided it was cold, and we had a long drive in the dark and snow, figuring 6 fish was enough for a weekend, we packed up and headed home.
All in all a very successful, fun, and relaxing weekend!
