Caught my first steelhead ever up at reiters on the hatchery side. It was a super slow morning with qiute a few people fishing. I started out fishing with corkie and yarn, then I tried drifting a pink worm and finally put on a hammered gold spoon. Very first cast with it fish on. I think I casted it right in front of the fish because it hit it instantly. Awesome feeling.

Good job on switching things up. Spoons are under utilized for Steelhead these days, I've caught tons of steelhead on Spoons including some monster natives. Too many guys out there today that dont know anything besides pitching a float.. A six year old could do that.

yeah, no leader. I think it was a 1/2 oz. spoon tied right to my line.
