It was convoy fishing with Gringo Pescador and Nate Treat today. We launched at the 7400 launch (what a muddy, mucky, tiny launch!) and drifted all the way to the White Bridge take out. Conditions were OK, water was a bit up per locals but clarity looked good. Temps in the mid-fourties and occassional sun breaks/ light drizzle. With two pontoons drifting we had a bit of time sorting out the best methods. Did a lot of side-drifting eggs, float fishing jigs, and some casting of spoons and spinners at various good spots we pulled over and fished. It was a Tom Sawyer kind of day spent exploring a new (for me) river with friends. The fishing was tough. We each had a take down (mine came as I was rowing to avoid having Nate get hit by some tree branches). I lost mine - it's tough rowing and fishing at the same time. Gringo did catch a summer run that was way to ugly to even take a picture of.
A long day, nothing much to show for it but good memories. We'll be back!
*I'm not sure which Wynoochee river flow station to pull up. Grisdale was 497 today, doesn't want to pull up yesterday's numbers.
