Worked extra hours last week so had a day off this week. Man did I pick the right day! This was my 1st "solo" float in my cataraft and my 1st run with the trailer I built for it. The trailer worked flawlessly - can load and unload solo with ease.
The water was low (about 5') and clear. The sun was out, not a cloud in the sky and it was easily 60 if not warmer. Wind picked up a little in the afternoon, but not too bad.
I floated from 7400 to White Bridge I was on the water late, about 7:30 and the last one on it. There were 8 other boats that put in before me. 1st 1/2 of this run, it is hard to fish alone. By the time you are ready to cast you have to pick up the oars and position yourself for the next obstacle. So I used that time to blast by all the drift boaters who looked mostly to be pulling plugs.
Hit the 1st fish about 2pm, hatchery summer run about 8# and the 2nd around 4pm, another hatchery summer run about 5#. Both fish released, too dark for my taste.
I even actually got video of it, you can check it out on my Washingtonlakes blog
