Fished the Pend Oreille River today with Mel and the fishing was alot slower than yesterday. Water temps were at 39.0 degrees and weather was cloudy. We caught fish on 6 diffrent lures today. Total fish today was 7 and lost at least 12 more. Almost all the fish are in the 5-6lb range. The water level is dropping. I launched at Sandy Shores today and the launch is out of the water which makes it hard to get your boat back on the trailer there. Yesterday launched out of the Davis Rd launch and about got stuck the mud is so bad. I guess the only place to launch is Cusick or Newport till things dry up or the water comes up. Good fishing everyone

Looks like Davis did get worse over the last week. Glad you didn't get stuck

We went in to use Davis on Friday as well and didn't brave the muddy bank. We launched at Cusick and at 11am there were only 2 other rigs there when we rolled in. Cusick was an easy launch and only had a little snow on the ramp. Most of our fish were in the 5-6 lb range as well with one at 30" and just under 8lbs.

Happy Fishing

Were actually keeping all the Trout now and letting all the Pike go.

I live in Seattle area an i plan to go first time pike fishing on Pend Oreille.Does anyone know of a good web page or map that I can look at that shows the actual name of each slough on the river? In posting information regarding exactly where I was at or referencing a specific location it would be very useful, I also would just like to learn more detail about the Pend Oreille River. If there is some camping sites with boat lunch around?Thank

Not much camping in the area except pioneer park and one in cusick. There are no maps of the river that I have ever heard of.
