We fished out on the Cowlitz this Saturday. The weather was cooperative, but the fish weren't. We started at Blue Creek searching out steelhead. Threw everything in the bag at them, and didn't find anything. Nobody had much success either, Blue Creek is slowing down.

Headed up to the barrier dam, and joined everyone to try and get at the springers. We were learning a new technique of free drifting eggs and shrimp balls with a long rod, and within a little bit had overcome the intimidation factor of fishing with everyone and their uncle.

While we didn't have any hook-ups, there were consistent takers along the line, bright football kings, so that was a nice change of pace. While fishing is not red hot, it's going to get better and better.
