Spent the morning and afternoon at the cowlitz trying for springers. Started out between the hatcherys at a quiet spot. Saw lots of boat traffic, and no fish. Then went up to the barrier dam, lots of memorial day fishermen. Saw many fish roll and jump from the falls down to the boat launch. After hours of nothing come evening we decided we wanted to at least leave with some fish so we decided to go up to Riffe lake. Before leaving we stopped once more at the barrier dam to see if anyone got anything, and a guy was just reeling in a nice football springer. That was the only fish we saw caught all day. The Riffe dam face was packed with people, but at least everyone was catching. So we stayed the rest of the evening and left with some decent sized fish. Saw some real "monster" silvers jump. Meaning like 4 or 5lbs.
