Fished a few different areas this day. Not a lot of action but we were pulling in fish. My father caught a 4-5 lbs Northern Pikeminnow as well as a 1 lbs smallmouth. I had a couple smallmouth on from the 1-3 lbs range. Moved down to a slough that a week or so ago was dried up and fished with a yamasenko plastic worm on a texas rig. Caught a 3 lbs largemouth and had a strike from another. This year I haven't pulled any pike out of this river that measured over 12 inches... Last year this time I could go down to a slough for an hour and have 10-15 caught and multiple other lost.. Needless to say, this is why I switched to bass fishing... As long as you try multiple areas (with the water level changing) and you have the right tackle, you are pretty much guaranteed to catch something as long as you know a little about fishing. Very disappointed in all the pike being netted out though...
