Fished The Spokane on Saturday for a couple hours before going to a Grad party! I fished Plantes ferry area hoping to get a few rainbows and I did, I got a nice 20" bow 3lbs or so on my first cast with a single hook rooster tail (black and gold, beautiful fish too, had awesome colors! Released that one and my second cast I hooked into what I think was a landlocked Chinook salmon! I didnt have a camera but i googled it when I got home and thats what it was, must have came down from CDA! Has anyone else caught one of those in the spokane because I know ive never caught one! anyway water is still high, but the fishing was still good for me!

Yes, I have caught a lot of the Chinook in the Spokane River after high flows from CDA. There is even a a small number of fishermen that fish long lake for the Chinook during the winter, but I have no winter access so I have never done it.

That local fishing show that used to be on with Seth Burrill (Anglers Edge ???) did a whole episode fishing the Spokane River targeting the Chinook. He caught a bunch and was commenting how no one really knows they're here or fishes for them. I've tried for a Chinook in there with no sucess so far, only rainbows and smallmouth. Congratulations on your success.
