Got to Reiter right when it opened, with high hopes in spite of less than desirable conditions. The river was extremely high, and as a result of the consistent rain throughout most of the morning, it appeared as if it was going to stay right where it was. The rain started to let up around ten, so I stuck around in hopes that I might catch it right as it started to drop. Fortunately, my patience paid off. Hooked a fish around noon, but a bad knot gave way and I lost it. About ten casts after I re-tied my gear, I hooked into another one, which I landed. Chrome bright 6 pound hatchery fish. Broke off on a snag a few casts after that, and then about 15 casts after I re-tied my gear I hooked into a hog of a fish. Another chrome bright fish, weighed in at 11 pounds. All in all a great day for me, however, I can't say the same for my buddy who didn't touch a fish all morning. By the time I left I had seen/heard of three or four fish hooked aside from my own. Goes to show that sometimes it is worth it to get out there even when conditions are poor. All three of the fish I hooked bit a #12 black corkie in front of a #2 red owner cutting point hook, with a cluster of five red e-z eggs and a small piece of chartreuse yarn in the bait loop. Leaders were tied with 8lb. maxima ultragreen.
