This was a test trip for me. Applying some of the fishing skills I learned from Bob Johansen, I decided to hit Big lake for some bass action. It was also a trip to do some boat work. With my new found bass enthusiasm I've decided that I NEED A TROLLING MOTOR ON THE BOW. The little trolling motor I clamped to the side of the boat just didn't cut it. But at least I got out for a few hours. I fished the shoreline from the boat launch south to the shallow weedy area and then back up the east side of the lake. The slight wind that we had caused problems but I managed to do an OK job, lettinng the wind blow me along the shoreline coming back. I cast either a 4" silver rapalla or a jig/worm or texas rigged worm. I managed to catch one little bass on a rapalla. Oh well, gives me something to work toward. I got back home and ordered a new trolling motor from Cabellas - I can hardly wait to get it mounted and go again!
