I was fishing for dollys like i normally do and hooked into and landed a 5 lbs silver. Seems pretty early for coho, but it was exciting. Season doesn't open up here until the 16th of September. It was fun to fight a silver again. Hopefully the opener isn't too late..

Goodluck.

Could it have been a sockeye?

That's what seems logical but i'm 100% positive it was a Coho Salmon.

I have caught a coho jack on the upper cascade in late august last year.

i promise it was a silver. I've caught both species and can honestly say it was a silver. I was shocked, too. 2 years ago me and my buddies were catching silvers in mid to early august.

definatly could have been an early cascade coho. they get an early run. and not just hatchery fish upper cascade.
