Please Read this & Beware of Thieves! This is not exactly a 5 fishing day! But a 5 to make all fishermen aware of the thief at Reiter pond are back. 8/5/12 between 6:30 - 7:00 PM, about 3 or 4 theif driving a red dodge diesel get away truck, one was a girl (they did not fish but came to break into people's cars)...these people broke into someone's truck and stole their wader. Total of two vehicles had their belonging broken in and/or stolen. They even got guts driving pass the gate all the way down to the rearing pond stairway! Come on who is running the Reiter pond facility? To make things worst, they practically ensure no fisherman was coming to the parking lot while two guys broke the truck's window, and make a clean get away. I can't believe the facility guy running the pond did not even see these yahoos racing down the pond restricted grounds. The break in sound "Bang" could be heard from the river & the revving of the truck's engine to get away. The red dodge truck revved engine roared back to the parking lot to pick up the two thieves and they drove off. Fish n Game faility can't even enforce that place...they're hopeless, they don't even install cameras or lights on the parking lot. You have to call 911. I apologize for this long story, but long story short, you need to be aware of a couple of thieves roaming at Reiter. If they not fishing they should not be in the parking lot loitering. I don't want you to be in the same situation. Pass the word to your fellow fisherman friends - these idiots are back stealing shit again. If you see the red dodge truck (older model diesel w/ big wheels hi lifted), call 911 if you're suspecious. It is a real SHAME! If you see a skinny tall white male driving a red dodge, he and his buddy & a girl are the culprit thieves. They have no business fishing around Reiter. Thank You!

Wow! Really bold lately, they typically are on the highway side, never heard of them going to the hatchery side, definitely haven't heard of them driving by the ponds.

lots of tweakers in the rural areas.. just how it is.. they got nothing better to do.
we pulled into the prison hole wdfw lot thats over by the dairy farm at 6am on 8/5 and there was a car with the hood up and manifold parts on the ground.. i parked a ways away.. 10 minutes later 3 tweaker looking no teeth having ghetto dudes walk up with a jug of water and go back to wrenching on the vehicle.. its 6am!! i took the plate numbers just in case.. after rebuilding the whatevers in the car, they got it running and left...

Less than a month ago had 7/8 tank when i rolled in...... Low fuel light when i left @ 6:45 am.... (32 gallons) Saw white tarus and red honda driving off as we were walking back to the parking area. They must have gotten there and decided not to go fishing. Last year they broke in for a 2yr old pair of work boots and a sweat shirt that i blew my nose on, on the way to the river. Besides the state doesn't want to spend the resources on arresting a thief that doesn't have anything. That doesn't generate revenue. Instead they will post up in the brush with the radar gun all day in Gold Bar and use you to generate revenue. This is not a negative comment just an observation. On a lighter note take a new guy fishin!

that sucks really bad!! i went to the sky today i was fishing below the lewish bridge, i saw a red truck as you discribe on your writing. Its a older late 90's truck 4x4 lefted with tinted window. they were 2 peoples chillin inside the truck couldn't tell if they guys or girls. I feel really uncomfortable about them being thier cause of what happend to you occured in my mind. so i was worried so i got thier plates incase shit like that happen to me. but nothing happen maybe cause theirs alot of cars parking thats why.

This really sucks, thats why i drive a pile of shit subaru and leave nothing in it to steal. i like the hide in the bushes and wait. this would warm my heart to catch and cheerfully beat them to a pulp, then drag them behind the car to the next fishing hole and let the guys there beat on them, maybe like a tweaker beating wave, just keep passing them up river for a beating. At some point there has to be a hillbilly fishing that will go deliverance on there ass !!!!!

There have been a few break-ins above the mouth of the wallace,I wonder if it's the same people. People are starting to open carry down there in case they want to come back ;) on another note...I hooked a nice 20+ lb king on tuesday evening,the beast did break my line.Would have made for an epic picture though.

i am a hill billy...and the thing is it got to stop. its gonna take all fisherman to be aware of the thieves "once a thief always a thief" they living off you. best to call 911 - when you see the car and first sign of suspicion. you should not worry about calling 911 if you see these guys again. use. i think there are a few thief running and doing the same ole thing because they can, and they'll get released to do it again...so u know what they don't care about your car getting broken in...cost you $500 each window, they get all your goods stolen. never return. you get to pay. they stealing you ----because police can't do shit.you're a victim...everytime. your insurance wont even cover $500...so it is out of your pocket. see why the world is on you?

I hate going to reiter now....theres never any fish.... and this is the second time i've heard of crime happening down there.. the first incident, me and my buddies caught a guy, his son, and his son's friends poaching right at the intake pipe well before opening day....we had gone down to fish upstream and down stream of the intake pipe....we went back and fourth twice...walked about 4 miles....no catch....then we went down to the intake pipe to see if any females were flooding in and we caught these jack asses hiding in the bushes. The dad came out and looked like a deer and headlights and asked us where he could fish, we told him the regs. But he was busted. His son and two friends popped out each with two fish, well over 10 lbs. We were pissed. We cussed him out, they took off running. I've never seen anyone run so freaking fast with as big of fish as they were caring. Me and my buddies are old and outta shape and they took off before we could get their plates. To be honest, thats even more disturbing than car prowlers. They need cams up there!!!
