After a quick trip to Bellingham to eat at our favorite Chinese restaurant we headed down to Whatcom Creek to walk off the meal and check things out. The subject of our culinary adventure was Best Chopsticks, located just around the corner from the Mount Baker Theater. The restaurant is cheap, offers large portions and we have never been disappointed with the quality of our food. In fact some of their dishes are outright outstanding. That said, the service can be painfully slow, the staff less than friendly at times and it is not a 5, 4 or even 3-star setting, It is kind of comfort Chinese food and a weekly stop for our household.

Back to Whatcom Creek, we did not fish but I was wishing that I had a rod in the truck. There were some nice cutthroat slashing through a large school of smolt hanging out at the corner of the wall. But even better there were a number of adult chinook either along the wall or in the first few pools just above the upstream no fishing boundary. I can see a trip with float and eggs coming on in the near future.
