Fishing is like a drug. A wonderful drug. An addiction that can only be cured by the waters itself. With that being said. I havent been down to any rivers since last year. so dusted off my fishing pole and off to the puyallup I went. Got to the river around 6 am. with aprx. 10-15 fisherman as far as the eyes can see. well until you get to the bends. everyone was spread out, so no combat fishing going on. it was slow from 6-8am. then the fish became active. you'll see a roll or a boil every 10-15 minutes or so. So i said what the hell. I'll stay a little longer. then comes 9am. What do I hear off in the distance. A motor boat. Lets just say the hole I like to fish in is a really good hole. theres a large pool, then it comes off to a natural choke point. Well I guess the indians discovered this to. They took a bunch of fish from there last year during the pink run. Well today. they dropped there nets, they pulled the nets and came right over to where I was standing. beached the boat and started taking out the salmon from the nets. 1 silver. and 8 kings. 7 hatchery. 1 native. The captain of his little vessel then asks the fisherman around, "so hows the fishing?" well under my breath, I said you just took them all. Then they offerred to sell the fisherman on shore at 4 bucks a pound. And you know what. that is i-l-l-e-g-a-l.
they unloaded there catch and went back to drop the nets again. this time nothing. "YES!!!!" they came back to shore to redo there nets for another drop and that was my que to get out of there.
They were also joking around about "O how we have 12 hours to fish a day, and were going to be out all week long."
Disgusting
