Hit the Cowlitz River at the Blue Creek Trout Hatchery, launched the boat at 0545. Me another and his 10 year old son. With in 1 hour the "Son" boated a 14LBS Steel Head, 45 Min later "Father" boated 11LBS Steel Head, 1 Hour later "I" boated a 5 LBS Steel Head. As we sat there in pure envy of the 10 year old, his pole touches the water, FISH on he yells and wouldnt you know it an 18LBS Steel Head is giving him the FIGHT of his life. Roughly 10 min on his Dad helps him lift the pole and into the net she goes. Another 45 minutes later my Rod touches the water "Finally I say a BIG one" a good fighter this one was, but that lumiglass rod makes little work of that 12LBS Steel Head. We were off the River no later than 1145AM, even with the water level so low it made no difference the fish were still hungry. 5/5 even though it was slow we still had a great day.
