8/30/2012 3:25:00 PMOne of my favorite areas to small river dryfly fish in the state (along with the other rivers like Naches and some of the upper tribs like American River, Bumping, etc). Absolutely beautiful going over Chinook Pass and camping around there.
Cold clear water and feisty little fish. They used to stock the Little and main Naches (around the bridges) with rainbows but think they stopped that practice? Not sure.
PLEASE catch and release those little buggers very carefully if I can influence you (epsecially the little native cutts). Those fish have limited resources and a tough life but can still grow to 12 inches or more sometimes. I used to love to forage for their food and then throw in hoppers, ants, or whatever to fatten them up for the day.
