It is so nice having the sun come up later and my closest river open! Got up without an alarm, made some coffee and casually strolled out the door.
Hit the Duwamish just as the tide started to go out (7am). Started out with eggs under a float, 2nd cast fish on! Nice fish, took a couple runs before he let me see him. King about 10#, brought him to the bank, took my hook back and sent him on his way. A little while later a jack, then another jack, and another and another.. In the end I ended up releasing 6 jacks and the 1 king. Lost another jack and a larger fish I never got to see. Also C&R'ed a trout and lost a smaller fish on a spoon. This was all before 10:30. I decided then to change egg colors to see if the 2nd color was as attractive as the 1st. Threw it for the next hour and not so much as a bump, not sure if it was the eggs or if the bite just turned off with the sun.
No coho yet, but C&R'ing 8 and losing 3 in 3 1/2 hours made for a fun morning all the same!
