Arrived at the lake about 11:30 AM and decided to start out with my sinking line trolling a Red Carey Special. This combination last year worked very well for me and within 10 minutes on the lake while trolling up the roadside shoreline hooked up with a 13 inch rainbow. Trolled with a wind assist out into the larger portion of the lake and about 30 minutes later hooked up again with another 13 inch bow. Then all action seemed to cease. Tried some Chironomid patterns but not much happening this method.
About 2:30 PM, decided to switch pattern, again having had success with a light green color Carey, however the only Light green fly I had was a Doc Sprately, so decided to give this a go. For the next 4 hours, I hooked and released 6 rainbows ranging 13-16 inches and loosing to other fish at the boat. About 6:30, everything went dead again and finally decided to call it quits about 7:00 PM.
Talking with 2 other individuals, one guy said that he hadn't had a strike in 6 hours of fishing while the other individual stated that he had caught 3 fish.
