Hit 112th before work this morning. Quite a few people fishing. Saw a couple caught, so set up shop. After a while of nothing on spinners, I switched to a hammered silver spoon. Decided to try jigging it with the current. Had a hit right away, then nothing for a bit. Finally at the top of the drift I felt it get picked up, so set the hook. Ran straight at me, so I frantically was reeling up the slack, it finally turned at the bank and headed up river. I stepped back to grab the net at the same time the fish took off like a rocket. The drag screamed for about a second before the knot at my lure failed. Not sure if it was a Chinook or Coho, but at least it was something. Stuck around for a little while after that. No more action for me. Reminder: Check your knots! I should have retied when I started fishing.
