I never thought dock fishing could be so fun! The water is so clear you can see the bottom up to about 15’ deep. I saw plenty of 6”-9” bass that will normally eat anything in sight. With the water being so clear, by brother and I spotted two fatty bass skulking around, side by side, on the bottom, under the docks. I threw everything I had at them, but could not get a look. Finally, I went back to worms and got a slow sluggish bite but, got too excited at pulled it out of his mouth. As I watched the few boats putt along catching 9” trout, I could only think of the 5 triploids my dad and I landed on opening day. Yes, I said 5. There is nothing like dragging in 18”ers.

The lake has thousands of salamanders. The salamanders move like molasses. That is what the bass eat to get so big, but because their normal prey moves so slowly, I don’t think they will jump on anything moving to quick.
