I didn't get to fish the wallace when it open cause I was out hunting, but thats alright i heard there were a lot people up and down the river. So I started checking things out under hwy 2 bridge and there is absolutely no drift there. Still tossed a bobber and eggs and got nothing. Proceeded down river to the next hole that had a little flow and tossed the same gear and landed 1 king and another shook the hook. Then walked back up to that corner hole and got a few floats down but nothing to the bank. Walked up river to check things out above and the wallace just has kings in it right now. Actually i did see what looked to be a sockeye, but if anyone wants to know the wallace is not the place to go. Also, saw some illegal actvity. Found 3 king salmon carcasses that had been filleted. so to everyone who fishes the wallace river you CAN NOT keep king(chinook) salmon and why would you they are spawned out and nasty.

I went to the Wallace last night after work and saw 4 or 5 people of a minority decent casting large egg sinkers with hooks under the cedar tree. They hooked(snagged) several fish and left.They were very excited with the large fish they snagged. They left all of their packaging from the egg weights on the shore of the river(creek). I went up there as the corner hole was too low and not many fish in there after they left. The fish under the cedar tree were spooked.
