I fished from low tide to high and nothing only one follow from a silver on one of my jigs. I am very upset lol. I couldnt believe how the silvers would follow my lure in. At the last possible moment turn away. They would hesitate for split second as if they figured something out. then dart off and rejoin the schools. Of fish I figure wrong color or or some thing. Maybe wrong scent. Who knows. I tried corkies and got a few bumbs. I tried eggs under a float and got nothing.Tried shrimp and got nothing. what is up why no takers. I guess I am just not fishing hard enough I put in two days about 8 hours so far. And not so much as a good solid hook up. HELP any tips on colors that might be better.

Almost sounds like you might be working the water too hard. If there's not a lot of people, I'd give the water a break every so often (sip a beverage, smoke a whatever) then after letting things rest for a bit (inlcuding your frustration), get back up and hammer 'em again for a little while before repeating the break IMO. Don't get too frustrated, the fish are in patches so one day it ca n be dead and the other dead on so being patient and putting in some time helps. Oh, and if the fish are following but not comitting you might try changing the retrieve a little. At least you have some followers so must be doing something right. Good luck.

smoke a whatever.... lol.

Another thing, 8 hours ain't much many people have worked much longer with much more experience before hooking up. Be patient and work different spots. I usually start up stream as far as possible right now around ft. dent, then move down spot by spot until I find action. A final tip, go to a river producing consistent action to hone your skills. The green is by no means a producer, you have to work it much harder than other rivers in the state (ie chehalis, satsop, sky et..)

Don't feel bad. It's tough right now. I've been hitting it solid over multiple days for more than a week and have only hooked up with two and landed one of those. I've tried spinners, spoons, corkie and yarn, eggs, and a couple jigs. Although I've seen fish jumping and some caught, I certainly wouldn't rate it on fire. The majority of people I've seen have not hooked up while I've been there.
