I started early morning in Sultan with fish eggs under a float and different spinners. Not one bite. There were fish jumping but mostly kings. In the morning the weather was foggy and rainy. There were couple of people fishing nearby. I didn't see anyone catching anything.
Then I moved to Wallace, mostly to learn the place. By the time I got there it was time to ditch the jacket and put on the short pants. I convinced a fish to bite a jig but that wasn't a good idea because it was a tired king. Luckily it unhooked itself after a while. There are 0 coho in Wallace right now. I don't understand why people want to snag the kings. There were plenty of snaggers near the hatchery having the time of their life.
I though that I should get closer to the cohos by trying the Snohomish. So I drove to Bob Heirman Preserve and spent couple of hours there. No action for me and no action for the 5 other people trying their luck there. I tried again fish eggs, spinners and even some dick nites.
I saw very few silvers jumping, most of the fish are kings at this point.
It was a beautiful day but it's a waste of time right now to fish for cohos at least so up the river.
