Finally decided to go hit the river this morning, for the morning bite. Haven't been out since Wednesday, so I wasn't sure if the catching had picked up. Got there around 7AM, and it was packed with float fisherman. First time I've ever seen it like this, word must have got out.
Anyways, squeezed into a section about 20 yards wide, where no one else was fishing. Initially I could see silvers rolling in the hole in front of me, but they were hugging a large downed tree. Found out it was pretty snaggy, so I see why no one was fishing it. After a few drifts alongside the snag, I hooked up into a little hen, that I bonked. A half hour later, I hooked up at the head of the hole. Landed my first adult buck silver of the year.
By now, the flow of the river was turning to incoming. It was pretty much at a snails pace. Nevertheless, I managed to hook a potential limit fish, even though my float was at a stand still. I had it in about 10 yards from the bank, before it made a final run and sawed me off on the fallen submereged tree. After that, didn't get anymore bites. Left around 10:30AM with just the 2 silvers, but I'll definately be out there tomorrow morning.
