Got to the Green about 7:00pm was a little more hopeful because the fish seemed to be slashing around pretty consistantly. Started with the usual weapons in my arsenal, eggs, and spinners with no luck switched to spoons no luck with the smaller ones so just for sh%t's and giggles i snapped on a Blue Fox Pixie spoon in chartreuse and hammered chrome and it got hit like a freight train- a big silver. It ran up river jumped once turned round ran at and past, the reel starts singing as it rips out 12lb test, jumped again, spit the spoon and was gone. I fished till it was almost to dark to see the trail. Try again tomorrow.

When you fish those blue foxs do you attach the single hook that come in the box?

Sounds like a moment of excitement. Seems like they're hitting on random offerings. Spinners, spoons, corkie & yarn, eggs...just gotta be in the right place at the right time it seems. Better luck next time.

Just for clarity, the Duwamish falls under the antisnagging rule (I believe the follwoing explains it): Anti-Snagging Rule Except when fishing with
a buoyant lure (with no weights added to the
line or lure), or trolling from a vessel or floating
device, terminal fishing gear is restricted to a
lure or bait with one single-point hook. Hooks
must measure ¾" or less from point to shank,
and must be attached to or below the lure or
bait. Weights may not be attached below or less
than 12" above the lure or bait.

When I fished the Duwamish this year (jigging) I had a rather unorthodox jig with the jig hook cut off completely at the bend (cuz the hooks suck- Cabelas 25 pack 1/4 oz cheapo pink color I highly recommend avoiding them unless using them on pinks to find snaggy water) and then a Gamak Octopus barbless 2/0 hook looped on just below the jig like a stinger except the jig didn't have the hook since I cut it off. Had too many of those cheap jigs bend out even on the bigger pinks last year so started putting on a Gamak octopus. Finally went and got a few Aero 1/4 oz from Wholesale so can tie up a regular jig with better hook bend strength. Having the Octo just below the jig probably screws with the action of the jig so am hoping to try out an actual standard jig next week some time. Thanx for the report and glad you got a jolt of adrenaline mixed in.

YESSIR I replace all the hooks with a single barb less. I am very privy to the rules and regs of the water I am at. Years back I made the mistake of not paying close enuf attention and was informed by a very pleasant gentleman in a uniform and sidearm that I was 3 days early to be fishing in that particular stretch of the river. it cost me in time, money and was pretty embarrassing.
