Finally made it down to the Duwamish today around 8am in my waders and suit and tie! Water was running out at a good clip and there were a couple fellow fisherman on the beach up from the footbridge on the 599 side already attacking the water. I guess someone pulling a dick nite hooked 3 and left just as I was getting there. I started my drift with eggs and black and white yarn with red corkie. After a couple of hits my eggs were gone but the set up looked so nice, I just squirted some shrimp/anise scent and casted across the river~ half way through the drift I felt that subtle tap tap so set the hook and was treated to that familiar strong resistence with a nice 10lb+ chrome bright fish leaping out of the water and running up stream! It did a couple of jumps but was able to work her back to me and was coming in nicely when it decided to make another run to the other side of the river and then the line went slack and she came unbuttoned!

Darn! At least we all got to see her and got my heart pumping! Phone started ringing off the hook so had to call it a day at 10am but game me some hope that some fish are getting through the gauntlet of nets down river! I will be back tomorrow for another shot at it before I get too busy and have to leave!

see you on the water!

I just started floating eggs but I assume light bumps on my bobber are due to bullheads. I would expect a Coho hit would submerge most of the bobber. Any suggestions?

jojo, I've noticed when using eggs that the bullheads are a real pain especially in close to any rocks. On Monday I was fumbling with my wifes lure and didn't noticed that the eggs dangling from my own line had dunked down in the water at my feet. When I finally looked down there were three bullheads devouring my eggs.....right at my feet.

Jojo, the bullheads bite is a really jittery fast tap tap tap and tends to happen at the end of the drift; if that bobber starts dipping just hit it!

I get the hits in the beginning of my drift and always in the same spot. I try setting but nothing. I know I am dragging the bottom and there are rocks there. Can't figure it out. Guess I will keep trying. Thanks all for the replies!
