Started off this morning down around 1st ave. Fished for a bit and watched the nets go in, what a zoo! Im suprised the boaters down there can navigate the maze they lay out! Didn't catch anything or even see a roller. So I went up to 112th and watched the crazy people there for a few minutes, saw some rollers but no fish caught. I didnt even fish at this spot, not my style to be around that many people. LOL. I then went further upriver to the fort dent area and just watched the river for awhile, not a fish stirring or any other fisherman in sight. So I settled on fishing an area just downstream from the black, fish rolling and nobody around......MY KINDA PLACE! I got my gear ready and made my first few casts in silence, watched some fish roll, and just enjoyed some sunshine. About my fifth or six cast, i am daydreaming away and BAAAAM! FISH ON! Jumping, rolling, and running all over the place, I coaxed him to shore and its a keeper. BONK. I thought i may get a limit with such quick action but no such luck. Enjoyed some more fishing and sunshine, left about an hour later. Hammered green spoon was the ticket today, atleast for that one fish. haha. I am glad the next section of river opens tomorrow, thats more of my kind of water. Including todays fish, i have only gotten three out of the lower river, i just dont know it as well as the upper sections. Shout out to JumpinJim though, he "guided" me one day last year and showed me some good spots. The three i have caught, came from those spots. Thanks again man! See ya out there again someday hopefully. tight lines all.
