Did an evening fish on the samish with 3 clients today, it was a hoot! we were catching something different every bobber down! one time it would be a jack, next a chrome wild coho, next a dark adult king, next a chrome adult king, next a dark wild coho, next a chum, it was hilarious. We arrived to the river around 2pm and fished until 7pm, first hole we hit 3 wild coho (must be released) and one 15lb dark hen chinook. Next hole we hit 3 more wild coho, a 24lb chinook a 12lb chinook and a jack, next hole is my favorite, and for good reason, we nailed a 22 lb chinook, 19lb chinook, 20 lb chum, 5-6 wild coho in a row, another jack and a 15lb chrome chinook. At this point we had released over 10 coho and a chum, and had our 8 chinook, a few nicer bright kings but most were smoker status, but you gotta keep um so thats the way it is, even the dark kings had sea lice, they have been darkening in salt and running up at night, a few had pale meat but most were decent and a few were ruby red, its getting late for good quality samish kings, but theres A LOT of fish stacking in my private upper holes, and ive always noticed THE DARKER THE KING THE MORE IT LIKES EGGS, its weird but dark nooks love roe. LOL oh well, all in good fun, heres a few pics! we were catching so many fish my clients insisted i take some casts and catch one myself, i actually got to land 1 kings, 2 coho and the big chum today!

Well rules say you have to keep them, and i just smoked a dark dark king with pale meat and although it didnt have a ton of flavor it was totally edible and the family liked it a lot. If u smoke um they arent bad. Trust me
