Gotta make this quick cuz work is crazy at the moment, and I probably don't need to be posting reports. But what the heck. The last couple of weeks I have been on planes, trains and automobiles, not the rivers bank, and all work with no play makes Jimmy angry boy.

So I flew back into town yesterday afternoon, wrapped up a work meeting and bounced over to the river just before the sunset. It was a nice evening although chilly. I just came from LA so I was expecting to be cold, good thing I have a nice clean fishin coat.

Fished for about 2 hours. It was rough, Jigs, Spoons, Spinners, Bounced a corky and yarn and all for 2 nice crome hens. One was taken on a Jig (The School Buster) the other was taken on a Vibrax 3/8th oz with green mariboo tail tied on.

Got home at O dark 30 and my wife asks me, was your flight late? .... I said no I just had some unexpected meetings... She came out while I was unloading luggage from my truck where she saw my wet boots, " I see your boots are wet, nice meeting" Busted....

My dad and mom stopped in to say welcome home and my dad wanted to take a fillet home, so I told him, if you want one you gotta fillet your own. Poor fish was already dead but it still looked brutal.

Damn those are some Chrome fish... You sure got that river dialed in. Can’t wait for the rains this weekend! Hope I can find two like those up here on the Snohomish!

They were nice and chrome, but remember at night with a flash all fish look WAY brighter than they are .... LOL

Nice fish. I really wish I were hooking into them as consistently as you are. Just out of curiousity though, why did you only rate a 2? 2 chrome fish in 2 hours would have been at least a 3 for me, maybe even a 4. Maybe my lack of keepers is skewing my rating process though. I'm sure I would have rated it less if I were constantly catching chrome. Keep it up jj, after all, you seem to be one of the only ones that has this system dialed.

gfakkema, ratings are pretty loose. I rated it a 2 because I just happened to land the only 2 fish that bumped me. Getting 2 hits in two hours ain't that great. I really don't go into the 3 zone unless I am on the river feeling it, 4 is for those hot days and 5 is for the days that you finish thinking.... I wonder if I will ever get to do that again...

What section of the river have u been finding fish. Not asking for secret spots just what section. I usually start at 112th and work my way up and everyday this week and last weekend it was really really dead. The tide has been awful for fishing the past 7 days, i found a few fish under I-5 but no takers, the rock out cropping by Fort Dent was dead, 180th by Southcenter dead, Briscoe Park dead, 212th dead, soccer fields in kent/auburn nothing but boot kings. Today fish were moving with the low tide at 112th but the water went stale real fast and they just would not bite. 2 weeks ago i limited everyday for about 6 days but with the recent tide things are super slow.

Cheng, I fish in the sections you mentioned. I usually do a little at the mouth of the black, under I5, rarely hit the dent, sometimes go to briscoe... I NEVER go to 212th because it does not suit my fishing style, that spot is full of trash, and snagging vagrants, one time I went down there with a garbage bag and cleaned up a bit, one week later you could not even tell. That was the Day I call it quits there. I go up to the soccer fields in auburn every so often but because of where I work I don't go there much. I also don't care to much to fish for darker fish so I stick to the lower system. Oh and I know a butt load of people are waiting to say, there are plenty of bright fish, straight chromers all the way up past Metzler... sure, Bright and Chrome are words open to interpretation. One mans Chrome is another mans Bronze just like one mans trash is another mans treasure. Now chummers are another story, I don't keep them ever. sometimes depending on the fishery numbers I will kill a few to make the ho/chum ratio more even but I just feed them to my dogs, or bury them in my corn field if the dogs won't eat them. So for that purpose I just sport fish them, I will go all the way into the gorge.
